Hertfordshire is a county immediately north of London, only
about 10 to 15 minutes drive from my home. Most bus routes in the
county are operated by the two bus companies, which are Sovereign and
Arriva.
Between 1997 and 1998 there were a lot of acquisitions in the bus industries in the UK. Many smaller bus companies were bought by two bus groups which were First Bus and Arriva. Some of the small companies even closed down. However, Sovereign still remain "Sovereign" and have not been bought by the giants. That is really a thing for them to celebrate, I suppose!
