The
Scottish Vintage Bus Museum
is a very big bus museum located near Dunfermline, Fife, Scotland.
More than a hundred buses are preserved in the museum, and most of
them have served somewhere in Scotland or are related to Scotland in
some way (e.g. their bodyworks are built in Scotland, etc.). There are
also new arrivals to enhance the museum's collections from time to time.
So, it is a really good place for bus enthusiasts to visit. The only
drawback is that the museum's location is quite remote and usually only
open to the general public on Sunday. That probably gives some
difficulties to those visitors who are not living nearby and do not
drive their own cars.
I would like to take this opportunity to thank the members of staff of the museum for their hospitality, especially Mr Jim Crichton. Indeed, I might not be able to take some of the photos in this special topic without their assistance. ![]() The shed on the right hand side of the photo is the museum's workshop. Many of the museum bus collections are able to be preserved by the proper maintenance carried out by the museum's members of staff. ![]() There are a lot of other sheds in the museum's area to store its bus collections. The one in the photo above is a view of "shed 99". The bus outside is a Leyland Leopard with Duple Dominant bodywork. It had been owned by Alexander and Stagecoach previously.
